What would you say is the biggest difference between Bremen and your home country?
Well, there are so many differences as in culture, education, weather and many others. But as I come here on purpose of education so I would like to focus on that. Main difference is Education is free here and you have hands on practical work. You can't only just understand it theoretically but also can implement it.
What would you say you like most about coming to Bremen as a FUSION researcher?
This is my first time to do research anywhere, so kind of excited to do it in a whole different system under the supervision of a German Professor. But I know that this is going to be my lifetime experience to work with and under with people who belong to another culture, I'll learn so many new things. I have heard about Universität Bremen that it is famous for its independent research and experimental approach. And as I have been already here in this system since one month so I got to know so many things. The methodology of research really inspired me here .So I am sure that it's going to be really great.
What did you like most (scientifically as well as personally)?
The one thing that fascinates me is German's organizational and punctuality skills. We have traffic lights in Pakistan too, but no one really cares enough to wait till it turns green, especially pedestrians. Another thing is, I enjoyed the weather a lot. I am going to miss this „four seasons in one day“ experience of Bremen.
Any recommendation for the next ERASMUS MUNDUS fellows of the Universität Bremen?
Enjoy everyday and every moment here, because you are living the best time of your life here. Experience German food, try to indulge in their culture, learn their language, and explore your scientific field as well as the city in your spare time. It is no doubt a small city, but you can find a rich and beautiful heritage hidden in the small streets. Do not keep yourself limited to the group of your country fellows, meet with new people, German youth is really friendly and adaptable, you never feel left out with them. If you want to be a good person in the eyes of a German, take my words, be punctual and be direct ;).
What is the one thing anyone coming to Bremen, Germany and Europe should have seen or done?
Travel, explore, and spoil yourself with German and European life style. Enjoy this feeling of independence, believe me, this is the best decision I have ever made. But do not make any compromises with your studies.
